Hello I am 'Singing and Songwriting Sophie!' and I provide children's musical birthday parties in my own home in Malling, Lewes. I have an abundance of energy and I love to get kids excited about music and singing (if they aren't already!) The parties are tailored towards what the birthday girl or boy would like to sing and come packed with lots of fun warm up songs, music related games and pop songs of your choice, for up to 6 children. The longer parties include a full songwriting session where everyone will walk away with a link to a recording of their original group song!

I'm a pianist and songwriter on guitar and piano - some of the songs you choose will be played live which I find really engages and enthuses everyone.

I have lots of experience teaching kids singing including individual singing lessons and through my Children's Community Choir which I run weekly at the Malling Community Centre in Lewes. I LOVE what I do (who wouldn't?!) and it is an honour to be a part of your child's big day creating those happy lasting memories! I also have a degree in performing arts and drama, and I weave creative play into the party games to make it that extra bit fun and imaginative!

Minimum booking time 2 hours - £190 .

2 hour party can include a songwriting component i:e a catchy chorus (but does not include the recording of a full song) Please see information below.

3 hour party (includes songwriting recording of full song via link) £290. Please see details below.

2 Hour Parties:

• The room will be lightly decorated with balloons and a birthday banner. 

• Fun vocal warm up songs and tongue twisters!

• Singing around the piano to our own positive affirmations

•  Singing happy birthday to the birthday girl/boy!

• Learning how to use your voice, and breathing techniques

• Musical party games (using improvised drama  -optional)

• Learning to sing up to 4 pop songs of the birthday girl/boy's choice (please let me know these two weeks in advance of the party)

• Breaks with orange squash and a snack (fruit or biscuits depending on your preference) 

• A quirky songwriting session to write your very own catchy chorus to sing together!

• Sticker and Singing/Songwriting Workshop Certificate included

3 Hour Parties:

• Same as 2 Hour Parties but the Songwriting Session will be longer and will involve creating a fuller song which will be recorded on my home equipment during the party and sent to every birthday party member via email as a file that same evening.

Please note that due to lack of space these are 'drop off only 'parties but if all parents are happy with their children being filmed , I can video parts of the party and send them to you afterwards as I appreciate there will be moments you might not want to miss!

Other things you might want to know:

 

Booking deposit is 50% of party fee due at time of booking and is non-refundable. The remaining payment is due the morning of the party.

I am DBS cleared and I have basic first aid training.

​

(The party does not include cake but you are welcome to provide this and I will give it out at the break or there is a fantastic cafe, Only With Love Brew Cafe, at the Malling Community Centre moments away on Spences Lane (also has a car park) where they do lots of nice yummy treats! 

 

In the very unlikely event that I am poorly and I have to cancel I will try my very best to book a music colleague to take my place or I will rearrange to your convenience and provide free party bags/refund the party bag cost.
